All About Ali

My son Ali Ya’qub was born April 18, 2006 in Niagara Falls, Canada.

He was named Ali after my husband’s father and Ya’qub (which is the Arabic equivalent of Jacob) after my father who’s nickname is Jake.

I had a natural birth (yes! no drugs!) after what was a relatively short labor for a first time mom.

Ali, just a couple of hours old.

Ali was a pretty easy going baby from the beginning. Although he has never been a great sleeper, and even to this day he doesn’t sleep through the night.

He gave up his soother by 3 months and never really attached himself to anything like a blankie or a stuffed animal.

About 3 months old.

I stayed home on Maternity Leave until I returned to work in February of 2007.  Ali adjusted well to being with a sitter during the day.
